KFA #1 - KIMCHI

Image Detail

so today's menu is KIMCHI!!!

File:Korean.food-kimchi-02.jpgFile:Korean stew-Kimchi jjigae-05.jpgFirst of all what is kimchi? its fermented cabbage, radish, scallion, and cucumber and its mixed with hot peppers and other seasonings. This is actually more of a side dish and has been able to be dated back 3000 years ago. Like anything that is fermented the more time it has to ferment it get tastier. I have tasted kimchi before and its not bad. Like any type off foods there are variations of kimchi all around korea like in the midwest korea its moderate and less spicy and the color is less red because less pepper flakes are used. Also different kimchi's are made at different times of the year depending on the various vegetables that grow in different seasons.

Kimchi which is mostly seen as a side dish also has other various foods like kimchi buchimigae which is kimchi pancakes, Dogchimi a soup, kimchi fried rice, kimchi jjigae a kimchi stew.
