Shut up Flower Boy Band Episode 15 Review

*Please note that this review has spoilers*
It's Friday! Thank goodness! This week went by really fast and now I'm rewarding myself with a day devoted to being a couch potato - err- rather a bed potato? Either way, I'm going to burn my corneas as I snuggle in bed with double stuffed Oreos as I watch none other than Shut Up Flower Boy Band!! I'm determined to play catch-up with all the episodes, but I'm also sad because this is the penultimate episode, the second to last!


Episode 15 felt short and straightforward, so this review most likely will be too. At the beginning, each member is shown gradually going back to their old lives. Kyung Jong is back in Busan stuck with his mom at the fish market. Do Il is confined at the pool hall. Ha Jin is taking acting classes and Ji Hyuk is loping about the city commiserating over his sad life, with the exception of Hyun Soo who is in the process of making his solo album, but even he isn't happy. In fact, nobody in this episode is happy. Su Ah wants to be alone, while Seung Hoon....well, he's Seung Hoon and he's pretty much doomed himself to be miserable for the rest of his life.

However; in any good story line there is that one episode, or that one scene in which there is a rising action that builds up to the climax of the story, and then we only have then to wait and see what happens in the end. This episode is is exactly that; it's just one big rising action. 
Mostly, I am so happy with the writers of this drama, because I can already see that they carefully planned this drama, and they don't intend to leave any strings untied. In this episode, Ji Hyuk confronts his past. And all this time I thought he was just born a brooding, moody, musician with an aptitude for making ramyun.  Out of the blue, here comes his mother! Like I said, no strings left untied. The trouble was the conversation was a  little bit hard to follow, because we, the viewers, have no background information about Ji Hyuk at all which leads to some inference. From what I can infer and I could be wrong, Ji Hyuk's mother abandoned him at a young age, because according to her, she "didn't want to pass on her poverty." Later on she marries a wealthy man, which explains why Ji Hyuk would have older brothers, but Ji Hyuk refuses to take his inheritance.So, naturally, he refuses his mother's offer to study music abroad etc. Nonetheless, I really appreciated this scene because part of knowing a character is knowing their background too, and nothing, so far, has left us wondering about the characters. Like peeling the layer of an onion, one by one, things are being revealed. 

What kind of mother is she?! 

As for the others, many big events happen to them too. Su Ah's father returns! Huzzah! Oh, but wait....he wants to move to China. China? Then Hae Ri spills the beans about Ji Hyuk letting Hyun Soo get a solo, to Hyun Soo himself. And she's not even drunk this time! Now, here's the kicker: Shil Ba tells the boys about a new opportunity to begin anew in Japan. The catch is, Hyun Soo has to join. Then the plot gets gets better and thicker.This brings up the one last major happening: Ji Hyuk. Apparently, Rock Kim gives Ji Hyuk a proposition to work with him! 

Someone doesn't know how to keep a secret.

Most dramas, heck, most movies are pretty predictable. It's obvious that the boys are gonna get back together and be successful, but it's all about the how. How does it all happen? So what happens now? Personally here's what I want to see: Ji Hyuk and Su Ah together, Do Il and Woo Kyung together, with some Ye Rim and Hyun Soo action. And it would be cruel of the writers to neglect Seung Hoon, so I predict he'll take over his sister's company, that is, if they do a fast forward to the future epilogue. The same goes for Woo Kyung; after everything she did for the boys, I expect her to be the official hairdresser of Eye Candy! I am also anticipating some Byung Hee! They started the band because of him, so I expect to see some sort of homage or some Byung Hee reference. Just something! Plus, I don't just want, but I expect to see Eye Candy on a rock concert stage, because that would be the perfect ending, what with all the boys together and only then can Tinker Bell swoop in and write Happily Ever After in pixie dust! So, excuse me as I grab a box of tissues and another pack of Oreos, because I'm gonna watch Shut Up Flower Boy Band's final episode. Aishhh....why does it have to end?!

Shut Up Flower Boy Band: Episode 14 Review

*Please note that this reviews will have spoilers*
Yes, I know. I haven't been keeping up with my drama reviews, but luckily, I don't have a lot of homework this weekend, so I'll be posting a lot.


 After my little K-drama hiatus, I went back to Shut Up Flower Boy Band, and wow, I didn't realize how much I missed this show. After Hyun Soo left (who is my new bias in Infinite), we were left with broken puzzle pieces that don't know how to put themselves back together. Now there are four members and the majority of them aren't taking Hyun Soo's departure so well, espcially Ha Jin. While Ha Jin is bitter like coffee when his "goddess" (Ye Rim) was taken away, Kyung Jong is like a cup of sugar; despite all the turmoil he still remains super sweet and loyal . I was so proud of him when he stood up to  his mother, saying he'd rather die with his friends. That's a true friend right there! I was so touched by this and I wanted to feel bad for the mom, but it's hard when the mother falls to the floor in shambles yelling, "I can't live! I can't live!" over and over again. So, instead, I just laughed. 

Now, let's draw our attention back to our favorite couple, Su Ah and Ji Hyuk or should we say ex-couple. These two really are  a good match; they're caring, courageous, headstrong and righteous, too righteous. In my last blog post, I called Ji Hyuk a courageous martyr, but now I'm beginning to think Su Ah is one too. Both are convinced they are burdening each other, so they break up and completely (attempt) forget each other. It was a good scene: they cuddled up at the Han River whilst playing with sparklers until they made their goodbyes at the bus stop. While Su Ah is trying to be cool like  soba noodles about the whole thing, we all know she's not ok. The scene ends with her bursting into tears on the bus and of course there was a happy Su Ah-Ji Hyuk montage of their best moments. I love this couple, but I think it's best that they break up, for now anyway. Ji Hyuk should devote some time to the band until he can learn to be a better leader and a better boyfriend. I knew this break up would serve as motivation for Ji Hyuk. And I was right! He woke all his friends in the middle of the night to practice! However; this motivational moment lasted for about 5 minutes until the band left the room, doors slamming, hearts sore. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to be woken up late a night to practice my chords and scales either. It was a good try, Ji Hyuk, but not good enough.

Next couple in line is Ye Rim and Hyun Soo. They have made so much progress and it's only been what? one episode. Now they've been appearing on variety shows, and they're getting more one on one time with each other. That said, we're beginning to see the Ice Prince's heart melt little by little around Ye Rim. (Awww!) I especially love the part where she cleverly slips a pink, bird-shaped hand lotion into Hyun Soo's hand. 1) When will Hyun Soo admit he likes her? and 2) Where can I get one of those bird-shaped lotions? (So cute!)

Lastly, we have major breakthrough with our third couple, Do Il and Woo Kyung! A small scene, but such an epic moment for Do Il! Here, Woo Kyung, endearingly scolds Do Il, bruised and broken, but suddenly,  he was like screw it, and he leans in for a kiss! That's right! A kiss! It wasn't a deep, passionate one, but it was more than what he was doing before, which means to say, not much. Out of all the bad stuff, it's nice to know that something good came out of this. Do Il fighting!

I want to say things got better after this, but Shut Up Flower Boy Band is too much of good show to extinguish such a big conflict so easily.  All of the members are being eliminated one by one, as the members' parents are forcing them to leave.  Finally, they officially break up. (What up with all the break ups!?) Ji Hyuk loses his temper because they forgot why they were  a band in the first place.  They lost their purpose, but what do you expect? They're barely eighteen and of course they're gonna make mistakes. It's a journey and I'm just glad to be able to go on the journey with them. So, the episode ends very symbolically with the burning of his guitar symbolizing the end of their music and the end of their band, but with two episodes left, I say, this is not the end. I predict Byung Hee is gonna make a reappearance soon, and he better come quickly. His friends need him.

REVIEW: SHINee 샤이니_Sherlock•셜록 (Clue + Note)_Music Video

so here's the long awaited SHINee Sherlock review! yay!! i might have informed you guys that SHINee is my favorite boy group among boy group. No matter how many guy groups i fall in love with their always loved more. They have the looks, the voice, and the dance.

The song had this fierceness to it. Also I love how everything ties into everything. The song is Sherlock and hes a detective and they really used mystery in the song with its beat and in their voice. AND THANK THE LORD THE NAME OF THE SONG MATCHES THE MUSIC VIDEO!

Now lets talk...clothes... SHINee as a group has always been trend setters and even started a trend called the "SHINee Trend". Their the ones that can rock anything. They can be cute innocent boys like the picture above, they can do the tux look, and they can rock skinny jeans, and finally they can rock neon pants. Last year i had SHINee's picture as my screen saver and my guy friend looks at my screen and goes "How can they look so good in skinny jeans". So anyways I love Teamin's short shaggy hair. I always love his hair like that so while saying that you guys know i hate his long hair. Why? its because I have a harder time defending him when my dad says hes gay. OMG I FREAKING LOVE HIS HAT! I absolutely love Key's Shorts!!!! look at those sexy legs! Love the a rap he did towards the end. Minho looks good with his hair here too. Its not too short like in Lucifer and Hello and its also not too long like in Ring Ding Dong. Onew has always looked cute in anything. From Onew I love his voice. Its one of the most soothing voice i've ever heard. In which i love his part in the middle. And we can't forget Jong Hyun he has too be the coolest in the group yet a softie. I love his voice too. It's very powerful and hes the guy that can hit hose high notes. MINHO's Rap is the awesomest. I don't generally like raps nor do i hate them. But this one i love. Also for some reason i never really liked Minho rapping. Well not like i like B2St's rapping. I'm also very happy that Taemin got a part in the song  because before he got very minimal parts or parts that we didn't even know he sang because its so short in this song i know hes the one singing.

In the video i loved how they included a dog. For some reason whenever i think of Sherlock or a detective in general i think a dog. Because they have a something in common and thats snooping (SNOOPY'S A DOG!) I think they could do away with Jessica. I like her but MV would have been better without her. The Dance was fudging awesome. I have to say I love SHINee's dance. I mean we have the lead dancer Taemin and him alone is like the dance god. But I think the choreography itself is unique and thats why i love it. 

So im so happy with their comeback and they did come back better than ever before. And also this was a very awesome pre-birthday gift for me and Jong Hyun since we share a birthday (april 8 baby!) I hope you guys support SHINee or if you don't know them yet please check them out because plain and simple they AWESOME!

Soaking it all up

so guys im like having major fan girl meltdown. So Nu'EST debuts, B1A4 comes back, SHINee comes back, Big Bang comes back, and now INFINITE!!!!! and all right around my birthday which is next weekend and im like screaming at the top of my lungs in head right now. Im so freaking happy that i can't even type right!!!!!! OMFG!!!!!

I forgot to mention in a previous post that Infinite is also one of my favorite guy groups and they're pretty high up on my list. Just wanted to let all my fellow Inspirits, if you didn't already know, that Infinite is making their comeback this May! If this teaser is any indication of how awesome Infinite is going to be, then I can't wait till May. Excitement! ^_^

B1A4's Baby I'm Sorry Review

After Paris, I have been experiencing a major case of K-Pop withdrawal! When I came back home it was like Christmas day! There were so many amazing comebacks, i.e. Miss A, Shinee, Big Bang, 2AM, just to name a few! Even the rookie groups shined! So, I made sure not to leave anything out. Reviewing all the songs I want to review would result in a really long blog post so I'm just gonna do this post by post. First up we B1A4's "Baby, I'm Sorry".

Baro's rap immediately drew me in and for me, it really introduced the beat of the song. Following this was Jinyoung's first couple of verses which really set the tone of the song. Plus I loved the contrast in voices between Baro and Jinyoung; Baro brings in a strong intro with his deep voiced rap and Jinyoung's sweet vocals help build up the song. Like Beautiful Target and O.K, the chorus is addicting. It has one of those lines that you're gonna end up singing randomly when your home alone. (Guilty!)

 However; I have a couple of complaints: I noticed a lot of auto tune in this song. It's not a bad thing, because I am  aware that B1A4 is fully capable of singing; rather, it seems that B1A4 was probably using the auto tune to create a particular effect to the song. Personally, I think the same affect would be achieved with or without auto tune. In addition, I wasn't a big fan of Jinyoung's, "Dancing Party Time" part at first. It's a necessary bridge for the song that grows on you after the first couple of replays and you can't help thinking, "Awww, his accent's kinda cute!"  There was also an anti-climax when the song reached a building point after the dan-dan-dan-ddan-ddan- DANCING PARTY TIME, when I expected them to hit a really, climatic high note, but they used a kind of big drum beat instead during their classic victory jump. (This was around the 2:43 mark). 

Other than that, I really enjoyed the song; it's the kind of song that you can jump up and dance to. Plus, I enjoyed the atmosphere and the concept of the video, too because while they experimented with a darker mood, (for B1A4 standards) they didn't stray too far from their cutesy image that we all know and love.Baby I'm Sorry still had that light upbeat feel for a supposedly sad concept, and I mean, who didn't like Baro's bedazzled viking hat? I know I did!

I'm Back!!

I have never been more happy to see a laptop! I have never been more happy to see Google USA! I have returned from Paris and while I had fun, nothing beats home even if it shrinks in comparison to such an iconic city.(Personally, I'm just waiting for the day when I can visit South Korea! Seoul!) I just came home and I have only one day to re cooperate and update myself on all the K-pop news but never fear, for I come bearing new blog posts in the very near future! For now, I'm just glad to be back!

Spring Break

so hello everyone it's finally break and believe me I'm as happy as you are. But I am really sorry i have to say that postings are going to go down a bit. A is away in Paris and although I'm stuck here i am actually quite busy. I thought that i would enjoy a quiet spring break at home but my parents have other plans. i live an hour away from all the theme parks so yeah like yesterday we spent the whole day @ the diesney boardwalk and ikea and then today i was at the lake all day. So i will try to blog as much as i can at night :)

Off to Paris!

Salut! Just thought I'd let you guys know that I'm heading off to Paris for spring break, so I might not be able to post within the next week or so; however, I will post as much as I can today and I will try my very best to blog while I'm in Paris. Who knows? Maybe I'll find some K-pop stuff, after all they did have music bank in Paris last December. So, if you guys know any good places or any K-pop related places in Paris, comment below! Shut Up Flower Boy Band Ep. 13 Review

If there's a time to tell your best friends that you have a secret girlfriend, it's definitely NOT a press conference. I just finished watching Shut Up Flower Boy Band episode 13. We left off with Ji Hyuk answering a persnickety journalist's question about his rumored girl friend. Out of all the opportunities Ji Hyuk had, he had to choose today to be honest about Su Ah. Even though I knew Ji Hyuk would confess, I couldn't stop myself from hitting my head on the desk, yelling at Ji Hyuk to just Shut up!
Sure, Ji Hyuk was just trying to do the right thing, but timing is everything! Mostly I hate the chain effect he created. Ji Hyuk obviously wasn't thinking when he announced his relationship status to the world because now Su Ah is crying and so is Woo Kyung while Seung Hoon is infuriated, and the band's second single is put at a standstill! And that's just not even the half of it. Aissh... Ji Hyuk what were you thinking? What's worse is that he's trying to make up for his mistake  by trying to deal with his problem himself taking up the role of courageous martyr when really he's making things worse! 

Then we have my favorite part of the episode, for I have been anticipating this moment. Hyun Soo and Ye Rim finally did that duet! Finally! They make such a good couple and I love Ye Rim's character because she doesn't cling to Hyun Soo vying for his attention; rather she acts all cool by being straightforward yet sincere towards Hyun Soo. So far, Hyun Soo has been trying to avoid her as much as possible, but his eyes revealed his true feelings! I loved how he took a couple of side glances at Ye Rim as she charmed him with her voice! I am expecting better results with this couple. 

Now here's the tearjerker, the pent up anger and the conflicts that have been building up since episode 1 have reached it's boiling point and all the lies are beginning to unravel. The boys each face their conflicts beginning with Ji Hyuk and Su Ah, then comes in Hyun Soo. He's been a ticking time bomb waiting to explode. Suspicions run high when there are rumors of Hyun Soo making a solo debut. Ha Jin, heartbroken over Ye Rim's duet with Hyun Soo and his solo prospects, drowns his sorrow in his favorite pastimes: soju and girls. Kyong Jong tries fervently to keep the band together, while Do Il remains as stoic as ever. Matters become worse as Ji Hyuk finds out about Hyun Soo's sister, who has been sick in the hospital. With this being said, Ji Hyuk takes up his responsibility as leader and he negotiates with the director to release a full album, but instead he ends up agreeing to Hyun Soo's solo. He further seals Hyun Soo's solo by "choosing Su Ah over him". In actuality, Ji Hyuk is just lying because he knew the only way Hyun Soo would agree to the solo was to lie to him. The courageous martyr strikes again! And yet, this is just the beginning. Now the band is broken and scarred; it hurts to say this, but Eye Candy has broken up, and the next episode has got me pining for more.

RESPECT FOR THE DEAD

I wanted to take the time to ask our readers to pray for the recent deaths of the father of JYJ's YooChun and 2PM's Junsu. May their souls be in peace for they are now with God in heaven. I know their fathers are proud of them because of all the accomplishments they have achieved. 


Personally I attend a private Catholic High School and many deaths there have occurred. May they all be in peace. 


And so i ask you readers to pray for our idols who are now facing some hard time early in the year and I ask you to pray for the prayers that you hold deep in your heart.

REVIEW: B1A4 - BABY I'M SORRY + NEW ALBUM

not from the new album! just a random cute group pic of them :)

The adorable boys of B1A4 have come back with their first studio album! WOOT WOOT! You guys don't know but I love B1A4 ever since their last song Beautiful Target (which is one of my favs) anyways these guys have released their 10 track studio album called Ignition and the MV for Baby I'm Sorry has been released. It was released on the 13th of March 2012 on B1A4's official YouTube Channel so i hope you guys check that out.

Now for the review. As I said i fell in love with this group after getting addicted to their last song Beautiful Target and so i knew I would love this song. This song is very different from their last one because this is more of a sad song. Its not as i guess "fun" as the other one but includes B1A4's great vocals. Especially JinYoung (he's my favorite member). This song was actually written, composed, and produced by JinYoung. i'm so proud of him! Oppa did a great JOB! for this to be completely made by him and his company making it their title song is absolutely great. It just says that the company really supports and knows his talent in composing and producing. Is it another GD? LOL... While writing this blog I'm actually listening to the song for the 5th time which im obsessed with now. Its better than Beautiful Target!

The boys have also kinda changed their style. GongChan has died his hair blond which surprised me and i must say i like him better with a dark brown/black hair.  JinYoung stayed with his cute slightly curly hair (cuteness overload whenever he smiles) Baro is cooler than ever. I liked how he started the song with a rap (GOOD JOB ON JINYOUNG'S PART) Sandeul looks almost the same just different clothes....CNU is still wearing the dork glasses (not that I'm complaining bring on the dork glasses people!). He does look more mature though i must say.

Can i say that i wanted to go through the screen and bitch slap the girl in the MV and make her go away? LOL i would never do that. But I know every Bana (B1A4 fans) felt that. Just saying....i mean she can be in the video just no touchy feely... LOL JK JK!

Can't wait to download the songs onto my ipod!

so in continuation of my 2 previous posts. I have been listening to NU'EST's song Face and have been loving it. The more i listen to it the better it gets. So here's a live performance of NU'EST and i say that they did a great job on their debut stage and the performance really showed the fans their abilities and potential. Also it looks like they really enjoyed being on stage which is GREAT! The MV probably got at least 100 views on it already because of me. The more I watch the MV and live ver. I fall more in love with REN. GAWD he's cute. So anyways I hope to see more from this rookie idol group. OH! and what's really awesome is they did a live performance a day or the same day they released their debut song. Will be raving about them....
